eCommerce Success Story - Regina Baker

May 4th, 2009

Regina BakerRegina Baker is a computer geek at heart.  She loves everything about computers, how they operate as they do and the limitless opportunities with software applications.

Her background is in Procurement and Information Technology as the Y2K Specialist for one of the oldest chemical and polymers companies in the United States.

After being laid off due to downsizing and even through the passing of her husband Ruben to cancer in 2002, Regina has learned to rely and trust in the wisdom and will of God. Regina says, “I knew there was something for me to continue to live for, to empower others and to have a profound affect in giving instead of just receiving.”

Having various roles in computer technology led her to where she is today as the Co-Founder of Wahmcart.com, a full ecommerce software solution for work at home moms as well as the small business community.

When my partner and I first talked about Wahmcart, we wanted to provide a full ecommerce software solution for work at home moms BUT without the huge price tag. Our goal was, and is, to reach the masses with our full ecommerce solution as opposed to only those who can afford a high ticket service comparable to what we offer.

“We believe that small business dominate a large portion of the market place however, a huge percentage of small businesses miss the opportunity to provide a secure environment like Wahmcart due to the lack of funds. Therefore they settle for free carts and not as secure or easy shopping options for potential customers.

This is why Wahmcart was born. Our goal is to educate the small business individual (sole proprietors) and companies with ecommerce solutions that will allow them to work smarter, not harder while at the same time providing an affordable solution that the “average” person can afford.

In doing so, I made it a point to become a Certified Business Coach.  In this role, I’m able to coach individuals on the importance of a suitable ecommerce software solution for their business while answering questions concerning internet and affiliate marketing in a easy to understand language.

Regina’s Success Tips:

1. “Every worthwhile accomplishment has a price tag attached to it.  The question is always whether you are willing to pay the price to attain it - in hard work, sacrifice, patience, faith and edurance.”  John Maxwell

2. Don’t limit God’s ability to do by your capacity to receive.”  With an open mind, willing heart, and positive attitude, YOU CAN achieve anything you want for your life!

3.  “People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.” John Maxwell

Success is About Giving…. Jennifer Dent Events are about Success

February 16th, 2009

Jennifer Dent2008 was full of life changing events already for Jennifer. Laid off from her corporate job right before the holidays, Jennifer recently made the decision to stop interviewing for another corporate gig and follow her dream to become an entrepreneur. Initially, she found success with a network marketing company, Isagenix. Her work as a Nutritional Cleansing Coach was much more rewarding and working closely with people across the globe in a team environment was much more fulfilling than working as a corporate employee.

As an entrepreneur, Jennifer realized there are many ways to generate income so she decided to indulge in her favorite past time, event planning. Her first event, Would You Marry You? quickly sold out and she realized that she may be on to something. Thus JenniferDent Events was created. JenniferDent Events focuses on bridging the gap in people’s live by briging from where they are now to where they want to be. JenniferDent Events motivate, uplift, educate and encourage.

Over the years, Jennifer learned the importance of generating multiple streams of income. In addition to her Isagenix business, and her event planning company, she also owns investment properties in the Philadelphia area.

Her professional success and accomplishments has not hindered this entrepreneur from serving. She lives by the biblical quote, “to whom much is given, much is required.” She is extremely active in her community and church, First African Baptist Church in Sharon Hill, PA. In church, she sings on the choir and serves as a ministry leader of a group for high school girls entitled G.U.E.S.S. (Girls Understanding Education Success and Society).

In the community, she is the founder of the Philadelphia Minority Professionals GIVE BACK Meetup organization. This group was established in April 2008 with the purpose of bringing together professionals in the Philadelphia area who are committed to empowering the community by giving back to charitable causes. The group membership continues to grow daily and is close to 300 members strong.

Jennifer is looking forward to the future where she has plans to empower and encourage people worldwide through JenniferDent Events.

Triumph Over every Obstacle.. Jonathan Lewis (Foots)

January 27th, 2009

Jonathan LewisThis is a personal story about a friend of mine. I have known Jonathan Lewis since high school. We where friends and hang buddies, chasing girls and  trying to be cool. We went to parties, high school basketball and football games and all types of social events. It was a special time, we where young and having fun.

During high school, my friend Jonathan (Foots) decided to start using drugs and those drugs ripped his life apart. For more that 20 years Foots battled drug demons, jail and during the process I lost my friend, I thought forever.

But slowly Foots overcame, he learned how to stay clean from drugs and alcohol. He found his faith, he found a beautiful wife (Penny), he is a father, grand pop and mentor and he became an un-qualified success. He has become a role model to many other people that are caught in addiction and incarceration.

Frankly, during our friendship I believed Foots would never get straight but I was wrong. Jonathan is living proof that any obstacle can be overcome, his list of formers (felon, drug addict etc) is formidable but if Foots can overcome all of this surely you can raise above all of your obstacles.

It gives me great pleasure in having a true Black Genius, that has overcome all odds.

The Story of Jonathan (Foots) Lewis, my friend.

Learn Quickly or Get Out of the Way

January 8th, 2009

I was recently reading David Bullock’s blog and he posted this video which absolutely drives home the benefits of the Black Genius Network in my opinion.

The video describes how quickly information is changing the world and how overwhelming all the change can be. David titled his post  “Lead Or Get Out Of The Way” but I see it differently. I say “Learn quickly or get out of the way”.

This video drives home the need to learn quickly and the best way to learn quickly is from each other. If your goal is to have a successful life, you can’t use the old ways of learning. You have to learn success strategies and tactics quickly from people that are using those tactics successfully today. That’s what learning quickly means to me. Learn from each other, don’t assume that the success skills you have or had will still work. Join the Black Genius Network snd discover new success strategies, tactics and skill quickly.

Check out the video and tell me what you think and discover the secrets to success from entrepreneur John Lawson

What does success mean to you.

January 7th, 2009

What does success mean? Does success mean having more money, control over your life, being able to stop working or something else. One of the first steps to any process is understanding the meaning of what you want. For example, when I sold my business, I was able to take a year off, you know Valhalla, no work, do whatever I want, you’d think this was my dream. WRONG. Month 1, is was great, I loved it. I could bike when I wanted, workout when I wanted but after the third month it was the pits.

I hated not having anything to do, no where to go, no purpose or motive, so I went back to work. So lets define what success means. Tell us what it means to you bu taking this poll.

3 Keys to Success From John Lawson… Ebay Entrepreneur

January 5th, 2009

I learn so much from these interviews and when we get near the end my standard questions is “What are the 3 Most Important Factors in Your Success. My goal in asking that question is to draw out the strategies that successful black business people use.

John’s 3 Keys to Success where; (here my interview with Black Genius John Lawson)

  1. You must have Integrity.
  2. You have to take action
  3. You have to believe.

Success leaves clues and John gave us specific instructions for being successful. When John talks about having integrity he means that successful people have a value system, that they are consistent and can be trusted, their word has meaning (as best as possible). John is also absoultely right when he says you have to take action. There is an old African proverb “If you want to eat, you must move your feet”, moving your feet is taking action. All results start with some action.

Lastly John says “You gotta believe”. When you get on a plane, can the pilot see the destination? No, he has a detailed plan, he takes action (flying the plane) and he believes (yes knows( that if he follows the plan he will arrive at his destination just like thousand of other planes and pilots. Success is the same, you may not see the destination but if you follow the plan, they keys to success outlined by John, than success is inevitable.

Dedicated to your success
