I love July 4th, Independence Day, the whole concept appeals to me. According to Wikipedia, “Independence Day is an annual celebration commemorating the anniversary of a nation’s assumption of independent statehood, usually after ceasing to be a colony or part of another state. Most countries honour their respective independence day as a national holiday and over 130 countries have declared their independence. Every country from Afghanistan (UK in 1919) to Zimbabwe ( UK in 1980). The entire concept appeals to me, “Commemorate the anniversary of independent statehood”.

The key seems to be the word statehood, which generally means “occupying a definite territory, having an organized government, and possessing internal and external sovereignty.”

Funny how words work, for example the word statehood leads to another word, “sovereignty”, which means “the exclusive right to exercise supreme political (e.g. legislative, judicial, and/or executive) authority over a geographic region, group of people, or oneself

When you start to consider the entire premise of INDEPENDENCE DAY the real question is Sovereignty, because if you read just a little more about the definition of Sovereignty, you learn the following; “A sovereign is the supreme lawmaking authority, subject to no other. Thus the legal maxim, There is no law without a sovereign.”

Well Dwight, where are you going with all this? Where I’m going is the idea of being a sovereign became important to me. The idea of having domain over my life and making my own rules is important to me and the key to freedom is to declare INDEPENDENCE and create your own Sovereignty?

I decided a few years ago to create my own sovereignty, make my rules, live my life my way and I believe thats the reason you are reading this blog. you want the same thing. The question is when will you become a “sovereign” the “supreme lawmaking authority, subject to no other” in your life?

You see that’s what youreally want. That’s what you mean when you say you want “FINANCIAL FREEDOM”, you want sovereignty you want to make your rules, YOU WANT TO BE FREE AND MAKE THE LAWS IN YOUR LIFE free of financial worries.

Well, lets go back to history. The founding fathers were men that decided they didn’t want to live under the tax authority of Great Britian. They wrote a “Declaration of Independence” and declared their freedom. They even fought a war for that freedom.

They where men or women just like you and you can declare your Independence, create your own rules for your life and fight the war to make them come true.

Here are the rules in my life (no particular order :)

  1. I will create my own income separate from my time
  2. I will do my best to help others
  3. I will live my life free of money worries because I can make more money but NOT more TIME
  4. I will love and care for my family
  5. I will work to ensure my family can live their life free of money worries.

You see, I’ve declared my sovereignty, I’ve created my own personal state for me and my family and I celebrate my Independence Day on July 4th, the same day as the United States of America. I’ve even got a Declaration of Independence.
So before you go out today, to celebrate the day the founders of the United States declared Independence from Great Britain, before you go to a picnic, or a barbecue, watch fireworks and celebrate, take some time to declare your own personal INDEPENDENCE DAY, write your Declaration of Independence, write your rules, make them clear and and join me in creating financial freedom for you and your family.

YOU CAN ALWAYS CREATE MORE MONEY BUT NEVER MORE TIME.
